Kitchen Art’s Living series # 7: Cinnamon Apple cake
This is one cake that is moist, looks amazing and flavored with cinnamon and apples. Cinnamon Apple cake is so delicious as a dessert or as a breakfast cake. You wiill definitely make this again.

- 150g unsalted butter, softened
- 120g caster sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla paste
- 2 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla paste
- 150g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 100g plain yogurt
- 2 apples, cored, thinly sliced
- Apricot jam (to brush)
Tools (available at Kitchen Art Store)
- Springform pan 20cm
- Pairing Knife
- Electric mixer
- Medium mixing bowl
- Flour Sifter
- Silicone spatula
- Silicone brush
Place the butter and sugar into the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until pale and creamy. Add the egg and beat well. Then add vanilla paste. Beat until just combined.
Sift together the flour, ground cinnamon, baking powder into a medium bowl.
Mixing butter mixture and the flour mixture until combined. Add yogurt.
Line a pan with non-stick baking paper. Pour cake batter into pan.
Arrange apple slices on top. Or you can fold cake batter in an other cubed apple.
Bake for 10 minutes at 200oC (on the bottom), then for 30 minutes at 180-190oC or until golden brown and a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
When the cake has finished cooking, remove from the oven and brush hot cake with apricot jam. Cool. Serve.
